Sarah is the Project Technical Lead for sustainability at engineering firm CDM Smith, where she’s spent the past few years helping government agencies navigate climate change mitigation. With more than a decade of experience in climate change and sustainability work, her most common project types include greenhouse gas modeling, decarbonization planning, and fleet electrification. Some of her recent work includes a life-cycle greenhouse gas assessment for Spokane, Washington, and a plan exploring bus fleet electrification for Carson City, Nevada.
Outside of work, you can usually find Sarah rock climbing, skiing, hunting for wild mushrooms, or trying different restaurants. She’s been part of the Work-Collective community for about two years and appreciates the flexibility to pause her membership during long work trips. However, what she is most grateful for are the experiences in which people have taken the time and courage to have vulnerable conversations – commiserating about challenges, sharing hopes for the future, and being brutally honest about the ups and downs of life. She finds that these supportive moments are the ones that make remote work feel a lot less isolating.
