Mark Jamnik is a Bend-based abstract artist whose work combines storytelling, entrepreneurship, meaning, and human connection through a style he calls Subliminal Story Art.
This art connects below the threshold of consciousness, inspired by accounts of everyday life expressed through the artist’s interpretation. Behind each work he creates, there is a story.

Each piece begins with a story. Mark draws inspiration from everyday experiences, conversations, people, places, and moments, interpreting them through layered abstract artwork designed to invite reflection and reveal meaning beneath the surface.
Mark was one of the first artists featured at Work-Collective and played an important role in helping establish and grow our local art gallery program from 2023 through 2026. During that time, he helped connect Work-Collective with local artists, curate rotating exhibitions across our spaces, and create opportunities for both established and first-time artists to share their work with a broader community.
One of Mark’s earliest projects with Work-Collective invited members to share what “community” meant to them directly on a canvas. Their words, thoughts, and images became the foundation for an original abstract piece created by Mark, capturing the relationships and shared experiences that make a coworking community meaningful. You can view the inspiration, process, and story in this video here.
That collaborative project helped inspire what became a three-year art program featuring more than 10 Central Oregon artists across Work-Collective’s locations. We are grateful for the creativity, energy, and care Mark contributed during the program’s formative years.
Mark’s broader mission is to make art more accessible, interactive, and understandable. His work includes original paintings, commissioned pieces, collaborative art experiences, workshops, and community-centered installations.
When he is not creating art or developing collaborative experiences, Mark can often be found enjoying Central Oregon’s outdoors through mountain biking, running, and skiing.
